You may have problems connecting to the FTP server using IE in the form of a DNS error. To fix this problem do the following.
1. On the IE toolbar, choose Tools | Internet Options.
2. Click on the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, select Enable Folder View For FTP Sites.
4. Select Use Passive FTP For Compatibility With Some Firewalls And DSL Modems.
5. Choose Tools | Internet Options.
6. Click on the Security tab.
7. Click Custom Level.
8. Scroll to User Authentication and select Prompt For User Name And Password.
These changes won't break anything on a clients system. In fact they may solve some future problems, so feel free to apply them to client systems. |
